五、讲座内容简介：

By-products of extensive economic growth, such as air pollution, are becoming an increasingly important driver of transnational migration, particularly in developing countries. This study explores the short-term and exogenous daily fluctuations in air pollution captured by China’s environmental monitoring stations to examine the impact on Chinese residents’ subjective intention for international migration based on data from the 2015 China Household

Finance Survey (CHFS). We demonstrate that exogenous daily PM2.5 concentrations significantly increase Chinese residents’ international migration propensity. This result could be explained by the negative impact of air pollution on residents’ subjective well-being. The results also reveal significant heterogeneity in the air pollution effect, which is greater among residents with higher education and asset levels. These findings suggest that air pollution accelerates the outflow of human capital and raises concerns about China’s sustainable economic growth.

六、主讲人简介：

马双，经济学博士，广州大学经济与统计学院副院长，教授，博士生导师，美国德州农工大学访问学者。研究方向为中国劳动经济问题。在《经济研究》、《经济学季刊》、《管理世界》、《世界经济》、《金融研究》、Journal of International Economics、World Development、Journal of Empirical Finance 、China Economic Review等国内外权威期刊发表学术论文近40篇，出版合著2部，其中英文著作1部。主持国家社科基金项目1项，教育部青年项目1项。 2012年以来，累计获得“四川省哲学社会科学优秀成果奖”5项，“刘诗白经济学奖”1项，“教育部高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖”1项。作为核心成员参与中国家庭金融调查项目，并兼任首席研究员。作为主要贡献者参与并发布《中国家庭收入差距报告》、《中国城镇地区住房空置率报告》，取得了重大的社会影响。2014年入选“第十一批四川省学术和技术带头人后备人选”名单，2017年入选“第十三批四川省有突出贡献的优秀专家”名单。2018年入选“广州市岭南英杰工程后备人才”，2019年入选“广东省高等学校青年珠江学者”，2020年入选“广州市青年文化英才”。
